We use your information to:

  • Review applications and assess suitability for the Founding Cohort.

  • Understand what kinds of initiatives or partnerships would be relevant to members.
  • Communicate with you about your application and, where relevant, your participation in the community.
  • Review feedback and improve our activities and services.
  • Meet applicable legal and administrative obligations.

We aim to collect and use only information relevant to these purposes.

5. Who has access to your information?

Access is limited to authorised THE IN-BETWEEN GLOBAL team members who need the information to review applications, understand member needs, coordinate activities or manage the community.

We do not share individual application responses with external partners by default.

If a particular opportunity or collaboration requires us to share your personal information, we will explain what information is needed, who will receive it and why, and obtain your permission where required before sharing it.

We might share aggregated information, such as the most common learning interests or support needs, to help plan activities or discuss community needs. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that this information does not identify individual applicants.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. How do we store and protect your information?

Application information is collected through Google Forms and stored in Google Sheets, managed through our organisation's Google account.

We will take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access will be limited to authorised people, and team members handling applications will be expected to respect confidentiality.

If we use service providers that store or process information on our behalf, we will assess the relevant privacy and security arrangements and apply appropriate safeguards, including where information is stored or transferred outside Kenya.

No online system is completely risk-free, but we will take reasonable steps to protect the information entrusted to us.

7. How long do we keep your information?

We will retain application information only for as long as it is needed for application review, community planning, relevant follow-up and any applicable legal obligations.

Our proposed retention period is one month. At the end of the applicable period, information will be securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate, unless a lawful reason requires further retention.

8. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

  • Be informed about how your information is used.
  • Request access to your personal information.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or misleading information.
  • Object to certain processing of your information.

Some information is needed to review your application and understand your interests. If you leave required questions unanswered, we might be unable to assess your application fully.

Questions marked optional are voluntary. You should only share information you are comfortable providing for the stated purpose.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection, membership or access to particular opportunities.

10. Photographs, stories and public communications

Your application does not give THE IN-BETWEEN GLOBAL permission to publish your name, photograph, personal story, quotes or other identifiable information.

If we would like to feature your story, photograph, feedback or contribution in our communications, we will seek separate permission where required and explain how the material will be used.
